Jared

As the son of a custom-building contractor, Jared was introduced to construction at a very early age. Over the years, he developed a solid working knowledge of the many facets of home building. As a young teenager, his extensive experience earned him the responsibility of training his father’s crew.

After moving to Colorado in 2001, Jared met and married a wonderful woman, and together they became the proud parents of two children. In 2023, his wife passed away, marking a profoundly difficult time for their family. Jared has since remarried and is blessed to share life with his beautiful wife and her two sons.

Throughout his life Jared has been involved in all aspects of residential construction, from managing multi-home and multi-unit projects to hands-on installations. Since founding Better Built Basements, Inc. in 2008, he and his father have been dedicated to creating beautiful, comfortable spaces where families can gather to create lasting memories.

John

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1975, John began his building career as part of a self-help housing program in South Central Florida teaching small groups of families how to construct their own homes from start to finish.

In 1978, he and his wife moved to Western New York, where they raised their four sons. While living there, John worked as a self-employed custom builder and remodeler.

In 2001, he and his family relocated to Colorado Springs, where he has remained involved in various facets of the building industry, from crafting custom cabinetry to managing commercial building projects.

With 50 years of experience in construction, John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. The hands-on design and building of residential projects has always been his passion, and he is pleased to have the opportunity to partner with his son as they transform unfinished basements into beautiful living spaces.
